Henley Street Pedestrian Bridge

The 5,000 sq. ft. Henley Street Pedestrian Bridge, originally built for the 1982 World’s Fair, provides a link between downtown Knoxville and the World’s Fair Park. The major renovations to the pedestrian bridge included a new frosted glass roof and custom perforated metal panels. The pattern in the metal panels creates an abstract representation of the nearby Smoky Mountains while color-changing LED lights allow the bridge to take on a variety of appearances at night. This project was awarded the 2017 Orchid Award under the Public Art Category.
