Knoxville Transit Center

This new facility for the City of Knoxville’s bus and trolley system includes 20 bus bays, passenger amenities and administrative space for Knoxville Area Transit. The project consists of a 700 ft. long and 63 ft. high cast-in-place concrete structure that spans James White Parkway, a major thoroughfare in downtown Knoxville. The concrete structure includes several isolated segments to accommodate different design requirements for the bridge, office and vertical circulation. The project includes LEED Silver Certification Standards and a green roof, geothermal well system, as well as extensive landscaping and hardscapes. The Transit Center was the City of Knoxville’s first US Green Building Certified facility and was granted LEED Silver certification.
