The Tennessean
The Tennessean Hotel, a former State Office Building located in downtown Knoxville, was converted into 82 high-end hotel rooms, seven suites and 12 residences. The interiors of the office building were gutted to allow for entirely new floor plans for the hotel and condominium areas. Significant exterior modifications were required to construct new floor-to-ceiling windows on all floors to complement the view of the World’s Fair Park, The University of Tennessee, Smoky Mountains and Downtown Knoxville. The Residences, located on the top two floors, feature high-level finishes, fireplaces, gourmet kitchens, luxury bathrooms and three-zone climate control.
The hotel’s interior reflects the flow of the nearby Tennessee River and each floor is named for a different river found in Tennessee. The furnishings for each guest room and the common area was custom-made by Hackney Furniture in nearby Sneedville, TN.
